A commercial registration (CR) is the legal identity of any business in Saudi Arabia. Today the entire process is electronic via the Ministry of Commerce portal, but common mistakes in the trade name or activity can delay issuance.
Basic requirements
- Valid national ID (or Iqama) registered in Absher.
- An available trade name not already reserved.
- Activity selection from the international ISIC classification.
- A national address registered with Saudi Post.
Steps
Start by reserving the trade name, then fill in establishment, partner and payment data — the CR is usually issued the same day. After that complete what is needed: the municipal license, chamber membership, GOSI and ZATCA registrations.
